July 20Thursday7 p.m.–9 p.m. Rockwoods Reservation, St. Louis area. Exotic invasive plants are plants that have been brought here from other countries, usually as ornamentals for gardens and backyards. They may look nice, but can become a real problem if they escape yards and take over wild areas. This will be a two-part program, with a classroom portion Thursday evening and a field trip to Forest 44 Saturday (7/22) morning from 9−11 a.m. to learn about the invasive plants that affect our region and to see first-hand the best methods and equipment for removing them. The Saturday trip will be entirely outdoors, so dress for the weather and be prepared for some walking (less than a mile).
